<image:caption>In-person & Telehealth Grappling with life’s challenges can be incredibly difficult – especially in high-performing environments where the pressure to achieve is constant and identity is often tied to results. As a former college basketball player with the experience of competing in the NCAA DIII Final Four, I understand the unique demands and sacrifices that can come with competing at a high level and recognize that addressing our struggles takes courage and vulnerability. I aim to honor this by creating a compassionate and trustworthy space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Through a direct, honest, and empathetic approach, I help clients confront personal obstacles, navigate performance demands and unlock their full potential. My experience as an athlete strongly informs my work and allows me to connect authentically with those navigating similar challenges. My goal is to work collaboratively with clients to foster more meaningful, purpose-driven lives – both in and beyond performance. <image:caption>In-person & Telehealth Sometimes clients feel an overwhelming sense of pressure from the world around them or in their sport. They are trying to make sense of their identity while fitting into a world of high expectations. This may lead to concerns such as anxiety and depression, impacting performance and overall wellbeing. I strive to actively listen to every client to understand their unique needs and strengths. I often help clients identify concerns or roadblocks in their mental well-being and then work through these with them. I primarily utilize acceptance and commitment therapy to enhance present moment focus and overall psychological well-being. I also utilize psychodynamic therapy to understand unconscious processes that may be manifested in the client's present behavior. I work to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, in which clients can develop a holistic understanding of their world and individual needs. It is my goal that clients will not only enhance their ability to effectively cope with the full variety of life’s worries but also improve their confidence in their ability to reach success both in life and sport. <image:caption>In-person & Telehealth Athletes are “supposed” to be mentally tough; however, the truth is that athletes are humans first. As a person, you experience all of the same stress as your non-athlete peers in addition to ALL of the stressors that sport & competition brings along. You might struggle to acknowledge that your mind might not be “tough enough” to handle all of that pressure. I am here to say, it is okay. You can ask for help. In fact, you become stronger and tougher when you know how to effectively manage your headspace. I meet all athletes exactly where they are at, as humans first. Together, we identify goals that goals will restore your health in addition to support your relationship with food, your body and exercise. Working with me means that you get both a therapist and a coach. My goal is to provide the “right-for-you” tools, strategies, and insights to help you reclaim your physical and mental health. <image:caption>In-person & telehealth services The idea of taking medications to manage your headspace can be scary to think about. Perhaps you think you need to “tough it out” or find yourself staying busy all the time to avoid those unwanted symptoms that make it unbearable to hangout alone in your head. I am here to help! Taking meds does not need to be scary or shameful. The truth is, there are some aspects of our brains that we simply cannot control. But, meds can help manage those unwanted symptoms. Not because you are weak. Not because you haven’t tried hard enough. Simply, because, you have no control over your brain chemistry. At Athlete Insight, I offer psychiatric care to athletes recovering from eating disorders in an outpatient setting. I take a collaborative approach with my clients, working alongside them and other members of their team to empower them in leading their healthiest and most balanced lives. As a psychiatrist, I prescribe medication thoughtfully, considering the unique biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to each individual's story. I strongly believe that an athlete's mental health is just as important as their physical well-being, and I view medication management as one of the many tools that can help them achieve optimal performance in a healthy manner. In my leisure time, I enjoy activities such as hiking, running, yoga, reading, and spending quality time with my loved ones. Experience: I am sport psychiatrist. I completed my undergraduate degree at Loyola University Chicago and medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. During my residency training at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, I served as the Chief Resident. I am proud to be board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various settings and with diverse populations. Currently, I am an active member of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry (ISSP) and am working towards additional certification in Sports Psychiatry. I have applied my expertise and understanding of athletes as the former attending psychiatrist of the Athlete EDGE Program at EDCare. In this role, I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide care to elite athletes who are on the path to recovery from eating disorders. At Athlete Insight, I offer psychiatric care to athletes in an outpatient setting. Experience - I am a sport psychiatrist. In this role, I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide care to elite athletes who are on the path to recovery from eating disorders.</image:caption>

As a former DI and DII student athlete, I get it. <image:title>Outpatient Eating Disorders Treatment - Athletes are commonly thought of as mentally tough and resilient.</image:title>
<image:caption>People mistakenly assume that the very traits which allow athletes to excel in sport will protect them from the development of eating disorders. These traits include being self-sacrificing, high-achieving, and people-pleasing in addition to having high tolerances for suffering. These might be the very traits that become athletes’ greatest assets as competitors. Their willingness to work hard and do all of the extra “little” things may even elevate them from “good” to “great.” However, these very same traits can also pave the way for eating disorders to develop. And, the truth is, athletes never choose to develop an eating disorder. They choose to work harder and make sacrifices to develop a competitive edge. That determination to become the best version of themselves competitively might become the slipperiest slope that they ever slide down. An Athletes’ best of intensions can merge right into the development of an eating disorder.</image:caption>

<image:title>Outpatient Eating Disorders Treatment - Eating disorder recovery is not a simple choice.</image:title>
<image:caption>Its not a matter of stopping one thing and doing something else. In the case of eating disorders, research confirmed that neurotransmitters lead to brain imbalances which athletes simply cannot outthink. These imbalances make doing the obvious things painfully difficult even though athletes might clearly understand the consequences of continuing to engage in disordered eating behaviors. Athlete Insight recognizes that athletes need specialized care. Our eating disorder clinicians are committed to providing excellence in care to support eating disorder recovery. <image:caption>Sometimes athletes (or their loved ones) feel lost when reintegrating sport/fitness training back into their life when recovering from an eating disorder, being side-lined to injury, navigating the transition out of competitive athletics, or after facing painful experiences within athletic settings. I understand that each athlete has a unique story when it comes to their experiences of movement. I meet athletes exactly where they are at to help lead them through the nuances of the fitness world with kindness, support and empowerment. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and size-inclusive coaching environment to best support athlete’s unique challenges while working towards sport, movement and recovery goals. Experience: I am a Lock Haven University graduate, with a master’s degree in Sport Science and Sport Psychology. I studied sport psychology to inform my fitness coaching and have supported athletes with eating disorders since 2006. For seven years, I was the strength and conditioning coach at The Victory Program, a residential eating disorder program for athletes. I directed the program for 1.5 years before shifting gears to private practice. I serve as the executive director of the Body Positive Fitness Alliance (BPFA, 501c3) and created the Therapeutic Exercise Alliance for Movement in eating disorders (TEAMed). Over the years, I gained a wide range of knowledge for this specialized population and found my true passion: helping individuals incorporate balanced & effective fitness practices into the recovery environment to achieve their sport/movement goals. I am committed to bridging the gap between research and practice and creating a network of knowledgeable coaches to collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment professionals. I am a former DIII athlete and completed a 50-day, self-supported cross-country bicycle tour. Experience - I am currently a Doctoral Extern at Athlete Insight, where I support clients at the intersection of mental health and performance. I hold master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Sport and Exercise Psychology from Ball State University, as well as in Business Management from DePaul University. I am also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Throughout my training, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of high performers, including youth athletes, NCAA Division I student-athletes, and professional competitors, as well as individuals striving for excellence in other demanding domains. Alongside my work at Athlete Insight, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at the University of Denver.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Athletes are “supposed” to be mentally tough; however, the truth is that athletes are humans first. As a person, you experience all of the same stress as your non-athlete peers in addition to ALL of the stressors that sport & competition brings along. You might struggle to acknowledge that your mind may not be “tough enough” to handle all of that stress. I am here to say, it is okay. You can ask for help. In fact, you become stronger and tougher when you know how to effectively manage your headspace. I meet all athletes exactly where they are at, as humans first. Together, we identify goals to meet your life and sport needs. When you work with me, you get a therapist and a coach. My goal is to provide the “right-for-you” tools, strategies, and insights to support you in becoming the most confident and resilient version of yourself in both sport & life. Experience: I am a clinical sport psychologist, licensed in the state of Colorado. I earned my BS in kinesiology and athletic training from Indiana University and my EdM in counseling and sport psychology from Boston University. My passion for the connection between the mental and physical health of athletes prompted me to return to graduate school at the University of the Rockies. I completed my practicum at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Counseling Center and my pre-doctoral internship at the Western Washington University Counseling Center. I then completed my post-doctoral fellowship at EDCare. <image:caption>In-person & Telehealth Specialties - Sport & Performance Enhancement, Grief, Injury Recovery, College Recruitment, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, & Self-Compassion Populations - Children (10+ yo), Adolescents, Adults Sometimes clients feel an overwhelming sense of pressure from the world around them or in their sport. Experience - I am a mental health clinician and performance consultant with a Master of Science in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I ran Division I cross country and track at the University of Northern Colorado and Division II cross country and track at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I have provided individual and group counseling and skill building workshops to diverse individuals with a wide range of presenting problems, types and degrees of mental illness, and levels of functioning. Additionally, I have developed team and individual psychological skills training for collegiate, high school, and middle school athletes that focused on a variety of topics such as breathing techniques, maintaining focus, and identifying team roles.</image:caption>
